For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the Act), the data controller is Eden Church, Grovewood Road, Malvern, WR14 1GD, England.

Information we may collect from you

We may collect and process the following data about you:

•    Information that you provide by filling in forms on our website. This includes personal information provided at the time of registering to use the Site, subscribing to our service, posting material or requesting further services. We may also ask you for information when you report a problem with the Site. For clarity personal data includes name, address, email and telephone contact details, gender, age, D.O.B.

•    If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.

•    Details of your visits to the Site including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, whether this is required for our own billing purposes or otherwise and the resources that you access.

•    An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

•    To notify you about changes to our service.

 

IP addresses and cookies

We may collect information, including information collected through using Google Analytics and Google Search Console (www.google.com/analyticshttps://www.google.com/webmasters) about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers. This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.

For the same reason, we may obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer’s hard drive. They help us to improve the Site and to deliver a better and more personalised service. They enable us:

•    To estimate our audience size and usage pattern.

•    To store information about your preferences, and so allow us to customise the Site according to your individual interests.

•    To speed up your searches.

•    To recognise you when you return to the Site.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you log on to the Site.

 

Embedded content from other websites

Where we store your personal data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Like most websites, we a hosted by an external, remote server. Therefore the data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Statement.

We will not disclose your personal information to third parties unless we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our Terms of Use and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Eden Church and centre, our partners or others.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

 

Your Rights

You have the right to access and view the personal data we hold about you. You have the right to have the personal data we hold about you to be changed, corrected or deleted.
